Meaning Of The Lord's Supper

An ordinance taken by those who have been baptized. Some say it is repetition of the sacrifice of Jesus for the sins of the world. Others claim that the bread and wine are the real body of Christ. called transubstantiation.

As Baptist's, we believe the bread symbolizes the body of Christ and the wine his shed blood. Like baptism, it is an ordinance. This is a memorial, a reminder, of Christ's sacrifice for our sins and his promise to return. Causes no change in us, but simply reminds of this action and promise. However, when taken seriously and remembered, the Lord's supper helps us to be more open to the working of God in our life.
